What is IWT?

The IWT was signed by Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Pakistani President Ayub Khan in Sept 1960.

It was brokered by the World Bank.

Under the treaty, the waters of the eastern rivers — the Sutlej, Beas and Ravi — had been allocated to India and the western rivers — the Indus, Jhelum and Chenab — to Pakistan except for certain non-consumptive uses.

What is WDD?

Around the globe, World Deaf Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of September every year.

The day was initiated in 1958 by the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD), an international organization composed of 130 national associations of the deaf.

International Week of the Deaf

The International Week of the Deaf is held in the last week of September, the same month first World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) was held. This year the theme for the International Week of the Deaf is: ‘With Sign Language, I am Equal’.
