TIPS TO LEARN VOCABULARY
Mountainous concentration of wealth, without the effective system of checks and balances, has led the entire society to chaos and mayhem. The burgeoning number of impoverished Pakistanis is the distinct outcome of an inequitable distribution of wealth. Meanwhile, affluent class in Pakistan has shielded itself by maintaining the intimate ties with the ruling elite. In this scenario, the poor are denied even their fundamental rights. Every annual budget brings the myriad taxes and poor citizens are asked to bear the brunt of financial wrongdoings of some people. Islam, however, preaches that the poor have the fundamental right over the wealth of the rich. But, that’s not the case in Pakistan.
It is the foremost duty of the government to address the issue of concentration of wealth with iron hand. The immediate actions against the accumulation of money will resolve the issues of poverty, food insecurity and unemployment.

LOAD-SHEDDING IN RAMADAN
It pains me to write that many citizens of Karachi ate their first Sehri of Ramadan in darkness after several areas of the provincial capital descended into darkness due to a major power breakdown and as per reports nearly 70 percent of Karachi was hit. The affected areas include Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Safoora Chowrangi, Federal B. Area, and some others.
The gas supply to the affected areas, too, is disrupted and the people who are observing fasts are facing a lot of problems due to the energy crisis.
I urge the government to minimize load-shedding in this extremely hot weather.

WATER SHORTAGE IN BALOCHISTAN
Balochistan has immeasurable natural wealth and strategic significance, but still it suffers from a sheer lack of facilities of a comfortable life. Water scarcity is one of such example. In Balochistan, annual precipitation ranges from 50 to 500mm as much of it lies outside the monsoon zone. The women have to walk miles each day to fetch one container of water to meet the needs of their families. The water is obtained from ponds and it sometimes become extremely brackish causing many water-borne diseases. According to the reports 62% of Balochistan is deprived of safe drinking water and more than 58% of its land is uncultivable due to water scarcity.
The government is requested to put in place schemes to eliminate water shortage in Balochistan and provide safe drinking water to the people.

VIOLENCE AGAINST MEN
There is a general saying that men and women are complementary to each other. But, despite that there is a plethora of organizations that vociferously advocate women’s rights; there is hardly any to do that for men who also face varied forms and manifestations of violence. One such example is the rejection of a boy by the parents of a girl on no grounds but that the boy doesn’t have huge income or wealth. Perhaps, in doing so, they forget that keeping the most delicate and sensitive relationship intact requires a good moral character and temporal substance along with wealth. Unfortunately, we are being divested of religious, social and cultural norms and values and morality, which give priority to moral character and nobility of men over the material wealth when finding the best mate for matrimonial affiliation. We need to equalize the material and economic notions with moral and religious orientation while deciding marriages.
