Jahangir’s World Times (JWT): First of all, please tell us about your educational background?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Murrad Hussain Nekokara (MHN):<\/span><\/strong> After completing my matriculation and then intermediate studies from Chenab College, Jhang, I got myself enrolled at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (Islamabad Campus) for higher studies. From this prestigious institution, I graduated in Telecommunication Engineering.<\/p>\n

JWT: As everyone starts dreaming of a future career in childhood, so what were your dreams? Did you always aspire to be a PMS Officer?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong><\/span> Yes, I always aspired to be a PMS Officer. More specifically, besides my own passion, it was my father’s dream that spurred me to pursue a career in Provincial Management Service.<\/p>\n

JWT: What attracted you most toward PMS? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong><\/span> Apart from personal inclination, it had two reasons: the horizontal mobility of PMS in terms of postings both in public and private sectors, and the advantage of serving the people within the boundaries of Punjab \u2013 Pakistan’s most populated province.<\/p>\n

JWT: How much helpful did you find Jahangir’s World Times (JWT) during your preparation? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong><\/span> JWT magazine and the books published by Jahangir’s World Times Publications helped me a lot in staying updated on all issues; and, you know, that\u2019s crucial to qualifying any competitive examination. Books for optional subjects by JWT Publications made preparation of notes easy for me, as they were written with perfection and do absolutely fulfil the needs of the addled aspirants.<\/p>\n

JWT: What, in your opinion, is the key to getting through compulsory papers, especially the one of General Knowledge?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong> <\/span>One must prepare according to the syllabus for PMS exam. I have noted that only a few aspirants pay heed to the syllabus during the preparation phase. For General Knowledge paper, the case is somewhat different as you need to stay updated on happenings not only in Pakistan but also around the world. You must consult objective-based (MCQs type) encyclopaedias, especially the one published by JWT, for best preparation for this crucial paper.<\/p>\n

JWT:\u00a0 Who deserves the credit for your success?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Murrad<\/a>MHN:<\/strong> <\/span>First of all, I dedicate my success to my father. It was his motivation that made me what I am today. Secondly, I am also indebted to my family as well as my teachers and friends who supported, guided and encouraged me all through my PMS journey.<\/p>\n

JWT: How did you prepare your notes?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong><\/span> I used to make a draft outline of syllabus and prepare notes accordingly with the help of 2-3 books recommended by PPSC. Plus, questions solved by the JWT specialists were also very beneficial in this regard.<\/p>\n

JWT: What were the mistakes you made in your last PMS attempt?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong><\/span> In my last attempt, despite securing very good marks in all papers, I flunked the GK paper by only a few marks. After the fiasco, I realized that I must give due importance to every subject. So, I prepared for the next attempt with a different approach and that has actually paid off.<\/p>\n

JWT:\u00a0 What are the things that an aspirant must keep in mind while attempting the paper? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong><\/span> I think relevant and arguments-based answers are key to getting excellent marks in PMS exam. Comprehend the question statement and write your answers accordingly. Word limit for questions may vary from question to question.<\/p>\n

JWT:\u00a0 How did you structure your Essay? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

MHN:<\/strong><\/span> I prepared a comprehensive outline \u2013 in rough \u2013 keeping in view the requirements of the topic. Then, I refined it and made it coherent. It was immensely helpful as whole body of the essay was before me. I wrote the essay sticking to the outline.

My Interview Experience<\/span><\/h2>\n

Interview was a bit tough as the panellists tried to trap me through strict opposition and criticism on my opinions but I kept my cool and answered every question they asked, with logical reasoning and examples. In the end, the same panel appreciated my views.\u00a0 .

My advice for fresh aspirants<\/span><\/h2>\n
