What is IWT?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The IWT was signed by Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Pakistani President Ayub Khan in Sept 1960.<\/p>\n

It was brokered by the World Bank.<\/p>\n

Under the treaty, the waters of the eastern rivers \u2014 the Sutlej, Beas and Ravi \u2014 had been allocated to India and the western rivers \u2014 the Indus, Jhelum and Chenab \u2014 to Pakistan except for certain non-consumptive uses.
