It also asks Centre to\u00a0frame a law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>December 2017:<\/strong><\/span> The Muslim Women\u00a0(Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2017\u00a0was passed in the Lok Sabha which made triple\u00a0talaq a aunishable offence with a jail term of\u00a0up to three years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Between January and August 2018:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Parliament sessions were a washout because of\u00a0which the Bill was not tabled in Parliament.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>August 9, 2018:<\/strong><\/span> The Union Cabinet clears\u00a0the amendments to the bill, which includes the\u00a0provision of granting bail to the men found\u00a0guilty of giving instant triple talaq. Also, the\u00a0complaints in a triple talaq case can be filed\u00a0only by the victim (wife) or a bleed relative.
